Public Or Private Employment Agency

Alvin Said:

How can I find out where a police officer works without hiring a private investigator?

We Answered:

Send the order to the Chief of Police for the city where he works. He can forward it to human resources and the payroll department. It should have been done by the attorneys at the time of issuance.

That information is public record so the police department must give it to you by law.

Kristen Said:

What rights do I have as a long standing member of agency staff?

We Answered:

As a public sector employer of agency staff I am sad to inform you that you have very little.

It does however depend upon how you have been treated by the public sector employer... for instance...

Do they supply you with PPE [personal protective equipment]?
Do they provide you with training along with their full-time/permanent staff?
Do they ask you to make sure to check with them before you book any leave?
Have they issued you with a car parking pass?
Are you involved in their team-briefing sessions?
Have you ever been written to by them over a work-related matter, rather than through your agency?

These, and a number of similar questions, will infer whether or not you have an implied work relationship with your public sector employer...

It would help to know whether or not you are an office based or manual worker... whether you work for a council or health service..etc.

I employ people to work on refuse... and we do have some people that have been with us for some considerable time.
You are in a difficult situation here and I have sympathy for your predicament. It would be advantageous not to speak to either your agency or the public sector employer... Maybe the union of your fellow employees are a good start point...

Good luck.
