Temporary Staffing Firm

Ricardo Said:

Which of these would not be a good name for a temporary staffing agency?

We Answered:

Ha ha ha, Toyota are taking on staff to fix all their recalled Prius's, so not that one.!

Naomi Said:

Temporary / Contract Staffing firms?

We Answered:

The worker is typically a W-2 employee of the Temporary/Contract Staffing firm.

They in turn sell labor by the hour to their clients. Naturally they take a substantial markup for doing so.

The advantages to the client are no liability, no fringe benefits, no worries about people not showing up for work, no hiring and firing costs and no commitment.

Hope this helps

Are temporary staffing firms like OfficeTeam scams?

We Answered:

I was placed in my current position by a temp agency. During the summer is the best time to use the temp agencies because of workers going on vacation. Just check out the firm that your going through with the Better Business Bureau. Good Luck.

Cheryl Said:

A construction firm receives an important contract and hires 15 temporary workers in addition to its full-time?

We Answered:

I don't think 2 1/6 is correct.

If 25 workers can do the job in 5 months then there are 25 x 5 = 125 person-months of work involved. 25 + 15 = 40. The time it would take 40 workers to do it would therefore be 125 person-months/40 persons = (125/40) months = 3 1/8 months. So the time it would save is 5 - (3 1/8) = 1 7/8 months.

We are of course assuming that working rates are additive and that months are all of equal length.
