In regards to private investigations jobs, from my experience there is not an employment agency. However, I generally search indeed.com or monster.com for investigator jobs. The employment agency charges the customer. This means the Co looking for an employee.
It charges per hour of "usage" of the employee.
What happens is that the employee is an employee of the employment agency, but not of the customer.
The employee is an asset of the employment agency.
So, let's say you find a company that is loking for an employee.Let's say you have the perfect match.
So you tell the company, and the company accepts.
You charge the company $25 an hour, but you pay your employee $15
If the company decides that wants to keep the employee, you need to negotiate some paymetn from the company, because you are loosing your asset. Maybe 3 or 4 months worth of payments received if they did not keep the employee.
Now, your challenge is that if you don't get paid on time..you still need to pay your employee timely.... So you will need to have some cash available just in case. Not all companies pay timely.

I like the in office ones the best.. you get a better idea of how they work and how well they are going to work for you to get you a job..

Your question intrigues me - will you be commuting each day to and from your job? If you get a job in a city 3 hours away will you be moving to that city? or do you have relatives or friends that you intend to bunk with during the work week? There is no reason any employment agency will not endeavor to place you in a job, they have a contract to find people for jobs. They don't make any money unless they can find warm bodies for employers.

Depends- they might be full service to *you* and charge *you* for finding a job. i've seen it before. if theyre full service to an employer, they advertise, recruit, interview, etc.

I think most employment agencies just take you money. I just got a permanent job though through a temporary agency. If you have a good employment record and know how to make a professional appearance for your desired area they can land you great gigs that will not only provide opportunities to increase your skills but also land new contacts and references. I have used Kelly Services and they had a long term assignment for me on the first day. I moved to another department with the same organization and subsequently was hired on permanently. If you do go this route, do remember that you also have to be in contact with temporary agency daily until you get an assignment. The skill level per assignment can vary - my first assignment was very entry level but I made excellent contacts that lead to much better and mroe challenging opportunities. Good luck.
