You actually have no legal right to take the tea breaks, whether paid or unpaid. The only break they *have* to give you is the lunch break, which can be unpaid. I believe that the company is entitled to set its own policy regarding this and therefore they can require that you take these breaks unpaid. See first link below to the Directgov site.

No, if you work on a bank holiday you do not legally have to be paid overtime. It's up to employers to set their own policy. See the second link below to the Directgov site. In fact, whilst some employers might give you a day off in lieu if you have to work on a holiday, very few will pay at an enhanced rate.
