Part of the answer is where you live. In most locations both positions require that at a minimum you are an RN with special study, some locations require MSN. This is similar to the nurse practitioner and the Physicians Assistant. Possibly another position you might want to consider is "Nurse Practitioner of Anesthesiology, or Advanced Nurse of Anesthesiology.
Any of these positions are very rewarding, both mentally and physically.pp

The physician is still supervising the CRNA, he may not be in the operating or procedure room but there is always a anethesiologist somewhere.

The Medical Doctor is a doctor, the CRNA is an advanced practice nurse.

CRNA of course! lol BUT it's much harder, challenging and competitive. Like being a doctor. Don't be fooled.

Assistant still makes good money and less school time.

Also remember that all assistant jobs make less than real. Lawyer Assistant, Business Assistant, Dentist Assis, etc.

The anaesthesiologist would make more. The technician only goes to school for approximately 4 years. The anaesthesiologist has to go to school and learn about being a regular medical doctor which is approximately 4 years, and then they need to go to school for an additional year or so to become a specialist. The technician, is either a practitioner, or a nurse that is highly specialised.
