Careers In Nursing

Duane Said:

Change careers from nursing to?

We Answered:

I am a nurse as well. My career has spanned many different facets and specialities. I spent many years in medical sales, but started as a Clinical Consultant. Many medical related companies hire nurses for clinical education, product inservice training, product input, reviewing clinical protocals, developing product algorrithyms, supporting the sales staff etc..

You might also check into school nursing. Teaching nursing to nursing students as well as teaching Health Science Technology to high school students interested in pursuing a medical career of some sort is another avenue you should investigate if that might interest you. You can try it to see if you like it by signing up to be a substitute school nurse or teacher with a nearby school district.

Another area that I have had some interest is legal nurse consulting, working with either lawyers or insurance companies to review cases of litigation. I am not sure that specific training is required but it might give you more credibility with potential lawyers or emplooyers. One that I have researched is Vickie Milazzio, JD, RN in Houston, TX.
Good Luck!
