It's wonderful that you want to do this. I am so sorry about your son. You could decide to become a doctor to find the cure, or you could help raise money to find the cure. To become a researcher, you would have to go to college and study biology, then you would have to go to graduate school and get either a doctorate or a medical degree. It would take many years. It would be easier to start fund raising to help with this. You would find a nonprofit organization that is working on funding research to find a cure, and you would talk to the executive director of that organization about how you can help. That person might want you to testify before elected officials, or speak to potential funders, or speak to the media.

Oh, and I think the word you mean is necrotizing, not nectorizing. Necrotizing means when the part of the body starts dying.

It used to be FORTRAN all the way. There's still a lot of code written in FORTRAN. But these days FORTRAN is often considered to be somewhat behind the times, and people also recognize that, just because a library is written in some language, it doesn't mean you have to program in that language to use the library.

These days, it seems the popular ones include C, C++, MATLAB, Mathematica, and python. C++ is powerful, general, freely available, and accepted by the computer science community. Mathematica is great for symbolic computation but, in my opinion, not good to use for numerics. C and python are often used for quickly coding up fairly simple things but of course can be used for larger projects. MATLAB has gotten exceedingly powerful over the years and is very popular among physical scientists, but you have to pay to use it.

Speaking for myself, I do almost everything in MATLAB except symbolic calculations (Mathematica) and very low-level code that needs to execute very fast (C).

The thing is, once you've learned a few languages, picking up new ones is easy. I think you'll end up with better habits if you start with C++, but it'll take a while to get the hang of it.

Um.... Let me think they pay for your collage, so you don't to take on thousands of dollars in student loans, so you can go to collage and earn a degree to help yo get a job, which in turn would make you have money, and therefore be able to donate to there alumni association.

well here is one... u r still not done after grade 12 with education, therefore in college, they teach you the more advanced ideas within ur future career and cooperate with other people to achieve more goals.. and when u get a job, u want to get the highest position as possible so that the boss/you need the smartest/talented/organized people for the career so.... good luck:)
