Group Health Careers

Ethel Said:

career in mental health?

We Answered:

Well I have thought the same thing too I have had two fairly major depressive episodes in my life. I relate to people who are depressed sometimes I feel that i'm not quite as distressed as they are. I thought about Social Work or Psychology in fact most Counsellors/ Psychologists I've seen said I would be good at this field. I haven't bother to go ahead with it because as most people who have had at least one period of depression know that it still sticks with you for most your life and I don't know whether I really want to burden myself with some of the more full on cases that have brought episodes on.
Still fortune favours the Brave!!!

A quick questionaire for people who work in a childrens play group!?

We Answered:

I did for 5 years.

1) Finished school, went college & got the job; always wanted to work with babies - 8 year olds.
2) Yes, I have ever since my younger brother was born.
3) Yes, I did, I needed to learn a lot. It's a lot harder than simply putting out some toys for them to play with, you need to assess each child, to complete an assessment you should know the rough guide of how their development should be promoted, how to tell if they're 'on track', what to do for suspected cases of abuse, first aid, any policies & procedures. There was SO much I didn't know, and when you do qualify and get a job, believe me, the learning does not stop there!
4) I wasn't employed, though I did regularly babysit & worked at a parent & baby social group, poor pay, but great fun.
5) 9 GCSEs, grades A*-C, then I did an NVQ2 and then an NVQ3 in Children's Learning & Development, then got the job a few weeks after completing the NVQ3.
6) GCSEs, NVQ2 & 3, currently doing a BEd in primary teaching.

Good luck with the H&SC course.

Group Health Insurance?

We Answered:

Professor wonderful, obviously did not understand your question, he must still be sleepy. This is a fictional budget for your assignment correct?

Your cost for health insurance could be anywhere from $0 to $600. I would suggest as a doctor you would have $ 0 because the job market is highly competitive for doctors and the benefits have to be really good to attract you to the job.

Christy Said:

Why do you think a lot of self labeled Christians are against the government health care?

We Answered:

Reading your question...I think you hit on why a lot of people are against health care reform. They profit from the system we have today. I agree with what you are saying. I think a lot of people in this country just don't worry about others.

I would think true Christians would be for health care for everyone at a price that people can afford. I would think that true Christians would see the system we have now as pure greed and needing reform. I don't think the doctors and the nurses are the people who make the money in the current system. I think they are grossly underpaid considering the years of training and cost of the education.

It is just as you said, the administrators and the pharmaceutical companies. Why would the CEO of a insurance company make 23 million a year? Then there are the lobbyists, they too make big money.

I don't think you will change their minds and I admire your optimism.
