First, let me state that I have no political party affiliation - I just vote for the best person.

Thank you for this reminder. BOTH political parties (Rep & Dems) know that you can promise Americans anything and deliver nothing. Our news media is so hung up on sound bites, they don't help any. We never hold politicians accountable for their promises. Our presidential election's electoral college process has made electing a president a poker game. Highly paid, unethical campaign leaders try to elect a product, not a person.

Most American have selected a political party and will stick with that party regardless of their accomplishments or crimes. The politicans bank on this.

Maybe it's time for more political parties like other countries have. (hint: Britain has more than 2 parties and Iraq has more than 2 parties) Then, we'll really have some competition.
