Health And Career

Victoria Said:

what will happen to health careers if/when there will be free health career?

We Answered:

Nothing will happen to nursing careers. They'll be salaried positions, same as always.

We're not likely to get serious health care reform, anyway.

Dan Said:

what health career would not require weekend hours?

We Answered:

Radiation therapists. Patients need the weekends to rest from the harsh adverse effects of radiation therapy. Yes, there are emergency on call treatment but these begin to not exist anymore due to the hard falls of the economy. However, it is hard to find a job as a radiation therapist as well.

Remember that it's not guaranteed that the government will take over the medical industry. Last I read, it's not doing so good with the Senate. I'm sure it won't pass, because socialism doesn't work, and it's not the American way.

She will end up working for the government if it does pass. Some government workers are paid decently, but you never know.

April Said:

Health Career?

We Answered:

Depends on her desire for level of care, nursing is probably more patient intensive for longer periods of time where radiology is patient procedure intensive for shorter periods of time. Either can be associates or bachelors degree. Nutrition may offer some flexability with a schedule. I have a cousin that works part time she was an RN and works now in nutrition.

Lance Said:

What health career makes good money with a Bachelor's Degree?

We Answered:

clinical laboratory scientist/ medical technologist, they make about 45-50,000 upon graduating. The other one could be nuclear med technologist who also earn about the same if not more ( average 50,000-60,000). The other could be a physician assistant which make about 70,000 starting out. Most usually require a masters degree, however i have heard of places that provide a bachelors degree for PA.
