Dental asst would probably be a safer choice...with youngsters it at least gives you better working hours with flexibility...also your exposure to illness/disease is a little lessened compared to nursing...nursing is a great area to enter, but difficult when you have young children. Nursing demands shift work[sometimes hard to get only day hours] as well as weekends, holidays etc... You may like checking out the medical asst & see...but keep in mind where you may be employed...increase risk of disease[infectious] & exposing your family as well...I wouldn't do with kids! BUT there are areas in Med Asst that do not always require heavy patient contact. You may like to explore the medical jobs that are in areas of record keeping medical transcriptionist, etc...Good luck!
