Tiffany Said:why are health care careers in high demand?
We Answered:Health care careers are growing because the population is growing and those people need health care.
Isaac Said:Are there any health care careers that have an overabundance of qualified professionals?
We Answered:No Need to worry check out asrt.org to get a list of the demand for x-ray tech
I will tell you however that there is high turnover in x-ray in hospitals cause the work is phyiscal and it is shift work so can always find a job.
Also if you get additional Certifications in MRI,CT,Nuc med you will be more marketable.
Personally i would get a Nuc Med and Ct certifactions so you could do PET/Ct a lot growth in that field.
But yeah as a basic X-ray technologist in some areas of the country you will have a hard time. I live in area with 5 x-ray technologist schools graduating a 100 students a year. So in my area it is tough to get a job!!
But if you move to area that has less graduate students then you will be able to find job!!
All of the healthcare fields have a fair amount of turnover so dont be to alarmed
Do what you love man!!
Sheila Said:what the latest demand in health care career. looking for an associate degree?
We Answered:Really anything health care related. I have friends getting their associates in radiology.
Some are in health care administration and others are doing health information technology.
Donald Said:which health careers are in demand and has a shortage besides nursing?
We Answered:There is a shortage if health information technology workers. Medical coding in particular is suffering from a severe shortage in some areas of the country, and they are as critical to the healthcare system as nurses. You can go to www.ahima.org or www.aapc.com for more information on HIT and coding careers.
