Bobby Said:

New career but have no idea where to start. Need opinions pls?

We Answered:

Do you want something you can make money on today, or are you willing to go back to school to learn a new trade and become licensed or certified in some area.

You can actually do both, also !!

You are a helper by nature, so no wonder computer work burned you out, you need to be in the helping professions !!

Counseling seems to be suited to you, such as a nutritional counselor, such as at a hospital.

Working at a women's health clinic while learning and earning some medical certification also sounds good to me for you.

I think you'd LOVE to work in a veterinarians office.

How about doing counseling in a chiropractors office on the nutritional side of achieving/maintaining good health, or an acupuncturist, or health counseling with parents at a daycare or preschool....

And as far as being hit on, it would be less likely at those settings as well...say, what are you doing tonight

Wesley Said:

Even though we're still in a recession, could anybody inform how to pursue a career in firefighting?

We Answered:

It depends on how much you're being affected by the recession. If you're financially stable, the easiest way to get into the field initially is through volunteering. Volunteers are always readily accepted(free help, ya know?) and you can get an idea of what you're getting into. It gives you an opportunity to prove your ability and also to show potential employers that you are a devoted worker rather than just somebody looking for cash.

If you live in an area with a dry climate and/or a booming lumber industry, there's always a need for help in forest fire teams. That's how a friend of mine got started. Otherwise, there's also plenty of volunteering available with other crews.

Once you've got your footing this way, you'll easily be able to see who you should talk to. In fact, employers might even come to you in search of somebody to replace a less effective worker.

Of course, if you're being hit hard by the recession you probably can't afford to do volunteer work. But I assume this isn't the case, since you can afford further education. *so jealous*

Kenneth Said:

Does it surprise you that Joe Wilson, the Rep. who called Obama a liar at last nights speech, is....?

We Answered:

One Term Barry is a damned liar and there is nothing in HR 3200 that requires people to provide positive proof of citizenship before receiving benefits.

Joel Said:

What do I do when I'm stuck in family business that is currently hurting my health and holding my career back?

We Answered:

If you don't want to run the business, hired someone competent from the outside. Sure, you'll have to pay, but you will get value and you will be free to pursue your own career goals.

Nathaniel Said:

Who pays Joe "You're a Liar!" Wilson's house payment?

We Answered:

And he received a token $5 from me as a compliment for speaking the truth about our Dear Leader Obama. If he uses it to make his house payment, well I have no problem with that.
