Health Care Management Career Paths after College?

We Answered:

After college, my first "real" careers was as an adminstrator w/ a company that got contracts in nursing homes.
The pay was okay but they offered wonderful flex time. I was able to set my own schedule! Assisted living facilities can become very depresssing though so be forewarned! You might want to also consider like rehab (physical therapy not drug & alcohol facilities, larger private doctor practices, or hospitals). That would give you mixed clients and avoid being surrounded by sometimes forgotten elderly individuals. Also, keep in mind that, if working in a nursing type facility, you'll have other supervisors to deal with and that can be frustrating (maintenance, housekeeping & laundry, dietary & kitchen, etc).

MBA in Health Care Management, Is this a decent career to get into?

We Answered:

Make sure the degree is CAHME accredited. There are many bogus/worthless degrees offered by bottom feeder schools such as U of Phoenix.
