early beginnings of medicine was based on Hippocrates' and Galen's four humours theory, which basically said your body is completely made of phlegm, black bile, yellow bile, and blood, and that you get sick if any of these four things became more or less than the normal level. Treatments were to purge the body of the excess humour, either by bloodletting, diet, or drugs that made you excrete the excess humour or balance its nature by being its opposite.

galen improved upon hippocrates' original 4 humours theory, by talking about the characteristics of the 4 humours (dry, wet, cold, hot), and made some other advancements on those theories. He worked as a surgeon/physician for the gladiators, and so during that time, he did procedures to patch up the wounded gladiators. He was mostly a physician, not a surgeon. Back in the days, surgeons were looked down upon, because they didn't know theory of medicine.

Well, if that is not enough money for you, you need to look into something like pharmacy or medicine. However, going into a field like this simply for the money will usually have you changing your major by your junior year.

Gee, I don't know. I decided to be a veterinarian when I was 12, and I never even would have considered being a physician, nurse, dentist, etc. It's just not the same thing!
