Kurt Said:

Career options? Something "healthy" lol?

We Answered:

look into exercise science. you could be a trainer in the future or open your own fitness studio, offering yoga/aerobic/fitness classes.

Gary Said:

Career's in Public Health?

We Answered:

I'm an infectious disease epidemiologist. I like my job.

My colleagues have jobs as far-flung as:
Script-writing advisors (look up "Hollywood and Health")
Program evaluators
Clinical researchers
Physicians (needs additional degree)
Nurses (need additional degree)
Personal trainers
Law enforcement specializing in bioterrorism
Lawyers (needs additional degree)
Environmental health specialists/inspectors
Health educators

and so many more...

I don't personally know anyone on the public policy end of things. I try to avoid the politicos. But yes, there is a lot of community advocacy gigs and public policy think tanks out there looking for new talent.

Peace and blessings!

Tommy Said:

what kind of degree should i do to have a varied science career?

We Answered:

If you're wanting to do something varied and go into something like health journalism, you would be better off doing a journalism degree. You wouldn't be doing much in the way of actual science if you were reporting health issues or presenting a documentary about them. If you want to do that, then look into media and journalism courses.
There are universities which offer joint courses, you may be able to find something with a joint honours in a science and journalism or media.

Adrian Said:

What can one do with a Master's of Science in Public Health?

We Answered:

As with so many jobs nowadays, you may have to relocate to pursue your professional goals......Academia, Government of Non-Profit positions, Research in a university setting; you should check to see which colleges have solid research labs, which could be a means to get solid practical experience and a gateway to a job upon graduating with a MS or PhD.

Marcus Said:

what would be better- a criminolgy degree or a combined health/psychology one?

We Answered:

it depends on what you want to do. I have a criminology degree.. it didn't get me far it can be used to work in a law office, paralegal/ legal secretary. Most attorneys/lawyers don't pay though Or you can become a cop. Health is a hot occupation right now so i think you should aim for the health sector. that can lead to more jobs than criminology
