Jobs In Health Field

Miriam Said:

what are good jobs in the health and fitness field?

We Answered:

Health & Fitness is a wonderful field to pursue a career in. With over 25% of the population suffering from obesity there's an obvious need for personal trainers, fitness and wellness coahes, and consultants. Many companies are hiring wellness consultants. Fitness centers hire for personal trainers and training managers. The real opportunity is in self-employment. As a fitness coach, I work primarily from home and coach via internet and phone.

Beatrice Said:

what are some good paying jobs in the health care field?

We Answered:

Medical programs are not going to be offered online. You have to have hands-on learning experience. Maybe you could find a relative to watch your child, or look into daycare. Also, as a side note, many programs are so demanding that it is difficult to hold down a part-time job, much less full-time. Here are some ideas to think about :

-Licensed Practical Nurse/Lic. Vocational Nurse: approx. 1 year program, must follow up with getting licensed. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos102.htm

-Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: 18 mos- 2 yr Associate's degree. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos273.htm

-Radiologic Technologist: 2 year Associate's http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos105.htm

-Physical Therapy Assistant: 2 year Associate's. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos167.htm

-Echocardiographer: 18 mos - 2 yr Associate's. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos100.htm

-Respiratory Therapist: 2 year Associate's. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos084.htm

-Dental Hygienist: 2 yr associate's. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos097.htm

Tina Said:

Are there any jobs in the health field that lets you have tattoos or piercings?

We Answered:

No piercings that I know of except for earlobes. I wore a retainer in my eyebrow piercing and wore my hair down over my industrial and daith piercings.

Visible tattoos are different. Some places don't care, others make you cover them up. I have seen many nurses, physician assistants, dental hygienists/assistants, and pharmacy technicians with visible tattoos.
