List Of Health Science Careers

Jay Said:

What can I do with a Health Science degree?

We Answered:

You have a number of options, but the graduate programs will require a solid GPA.

Graduate Degree Programs in:
Physical Therapy
Occupational Therapy
Physician's Assistant
Public Health

Professions straight from Undergrad:
Pharmaceutical Sales
Human Resources at a Hospital
Representative for Non-Profit i.e. American Red Cross
Community Outreach i.e. Planned Parenthood/ AIDS Education

And if you have a strong Lab background you could also go into Medical Technology.

There are a lot of options, but you'll need to do some research! I would suggest talking to an Academic Advisor at your college.

Elizabeth Said:

Can I ever be successful in a Health Care field?

We Answered:

At community college one choice is to enter a two-year RN program to become a registered nurse.

Community college is not the best place to start the path to the M.D. degree which is needed (not a Ph.D.) if you want to be a radiologist (not radiological technologist). Medical schools strongly prefer that students take the pre-med classes which are listed on medical school websites in their freshman and sophomore years at a four-year college or university.

If you want to go to medical school or else to graduate school for an M.S. or a Ph.D., you need to be in a transfer curriculum which probably will lead to an A.S. or A.A. degree, not an A.A.S., which is usually a terminal (last and final) degree for a particular student.

As you mention problems in your high school record, you may need to take some remedial classes at the community college before you can qualify for the transfer curriculum, but you should not be in an A.A.S. program if you want to transfer to a university.

Mabel Said:

What careers or career paths (good ones) can you get out of these subjects listed?

We Answered:

Evaluating a career can be a sure trial, and you need to be sure that you make the true decision because your career can influence so many aspects of your life. A buddy of mine for the last month had a change of career and he stumbled upon plenty of tips from the resource in the box below in advance of making his decision.

I only used phoenix as they had a list that most places offer. In no way was I saying to go there. I certainly never would. He asked for a list of Bachelor's programs, I gave him one's that can be taken anywhere and lead straight to a job. Again, in no way am I recommending any school.
