Medical Assistant Classes

Lonnie Said:

nurse and medical assistant whats the difference classes ?

We Answered:

CNA (certified nursing assistant) takes about 3 months class training plus internship at a nursing home. CNA can be your segue way in to the health care world but they come a dime a dozen and the pay is really low.

Medical Assistant courses on the other hand, take anywhere from 6 months to a year class training -plus internship at a medical office.

The start pay is higher {$10.00-12.00 hourly) and you learn how to draw blood, take vitals, administer injections, charting, etc.

Sherri Said:

medical assistant classes.?

We Answered:

Please do forgo those pricey tech schools and instead consider the county vo-tech school or community college. There aren't supposed to be too many jobs for the MA (or medical biller or coder) despite what those private $$ schools say.

General career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'medical assistants' or such.

Please also steer clear of those online, for-profit schools such as penn foster, stratford career, US career, u of phoenix, sanford brown, ITT tech, capella and others: http://www.ripoffreport.com and can type into search.
