Honors Program in Medical Education? We Answered:
Information is below.Samuel Said:
Is this a good medical education program? (10 Points)? We Answered:
The name of the course is not as important as how well they teach it. If it is an Accredited Medical School, you should be OK. You will need some General Surgery before moving on. How much depends on the program. Top of your class, you do well. bottom half, you have to beg for a good program. Check the school's rating in the US, if that is where you plan on training.Amy Said:
What education do i need to have to enroll in diagnostic medical sonography program? We Answered:
It varies. There are several avenues for entry into the field of diagnostic medical sonography. Sonographers may train in hospitals, vocational-technical institutions, colleges and universities, and the Armed Forces. Some training programs prefer applicants with a background in science or experience in other health care professions. Some also may consider high school graduates with courses in mathematics and science, as well as applicants with liberal arts backgrounds, but this practice is infrequent.Colleges and universities offer formal training in both 2- and 4-year programs, culminating in an associate or a bachelor’s degree. Two-year programs are most prevalent. Course work includes classes in anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, basic physics, patient care, and medical ethics.
A few 1-year programs that may result in a certificate also are accepted as proper education by employers. These programs typically are satisfactory education for workers already in health care who seek to increase their marketability by training in sonography. These programs are not accredited.
The Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited 147 training programs in 2006. These programs typically are the formal training programs offered by colleges and universities. Some hospital programs are accredited as well.

brown's liberal medical education program? We Answered:
The medical programs at Brown are extremely selective. There would be no point applying unless you are a very good student with a strong background in basic science, MCAT scores and the other areas that med schools expect such as volunteer service and undergraduate research. I am a little surprised that anyone who is contemplating applying to such an elite program would be asking a question like this on Yahoo...Check the Brown website and call the admissions officers to see what they say....
Good luck. If you are admitted you are going to get a terrific education!
Troy Said:
what is Brown University Program in Liberal Medical Education acceptance rate?We Answered:
Last year, for the class entering 2010, the acceptance rate to Brown's PLME was 7.6% for Early Decision applicants and 4.9% for Regular Decision applicants.Of the total 1972 applicants to the PLME, 106 were offered admission, which is a total of 5.4% acceptance rate.
The stats of the students who got in can be found in the link below.
It's a very good program, not only in terms of prestige, but also in terms of flexibility. 8 years at Brown University with any undergrad major and not having to take MCAT. Wow.
Anyways, good luck with PLME.

Is a 10 month program for medical billing/coding a sufficient amount of time to get the necessary education? We Answered:
I clicked on link below for Dept of Labor typed in "medical billing jobs" and found that jobs are actually predicted to be higher by 20% in this field than the average. Not sure what the poster means when they say no jobs are available in this field when according to their own source there clearly are jobs available."Job Outlook About this section
Employment is expected to grow much faster than the average. Job prospects should be very good; technicians with a strong understanding of technology and computer software will be in particularly high demand.
Employment change. Employment of medical records and health information technicians is expected to increase by 20 percent, much faster than the average for all occupations through 2018. Employment growth will result from the increase in the number of medical tests, treatments, and procedures that will be performed. As the population continues to age, the occurrence of health-related problems will increase. Cancer registrars should experience job growth as the incidence of cancer increases from an aging population.
In addition, with the increasing use of electronic health records, more technicians will be needed to complete the new responsibilities associated with electronic data management.
Job prospects. Job prospects should be very good. In addition to job growth, numerous openings will result from the need to replace medical record and health information technicians who retire or leave the occupation permanently. Technicians that demonstrate a strong understanding of technology and computer software will be in particularly high demand."
