the worse that can happen is you are denied.

The job market is flooded with Medical Assistants; given the relative ease of the program compared to other health care careers, the many schools (reputable or otherwise) that offer the program, and the fact one can become a Medical Assistant in as little as nine months. On the other hand, Respiratory Therapists and Rad Techs require a minimum of an Associate Degree (there are Bachelors in Allied Health programs), and although the prerequisites often require higher math and science than even nursing does, the job opportunites, salaries, and benefits as a Registered Respiratory Therapists or an X-ray Tech are much more lucrative than being a Medical Assistant could ever be. Starting pay for an RRT is over $20 an hour, PLUS shift and weekend bonuses, while MA pay starts around $10 (if you are lucky) and most MA's don't have the evening/night, weekend, holiday bonus option, either
