Certified medical records personnel working in hospitals do well. Check out the ADHI site or the website below for a lot of information about getting into these fields, including how to choose your training. Also, jobs are listed, so you can review the salaries in your region.Bernice Said:

Can my medical records interfere with me getting a job?We Answered:
Whilst I always thought it was confidential, there are some occasions when you may have to disclose it.My friend is a teacher; she had a long-history of self-harm & bulimia before her training. This wouldn't be disclosable to her employer as it was past. But if she was depressed & on anti-depressants AT THE TIME of her application her DR would HAVE to disclose it - mental states do have to be considered before allowing people loose in a classroom of kids (please no its against confidentiality retorts - this is a FACT!)
Jobs in civil service or local authorities in the UK also require access to your medical records/DRs report.
Most employers can't require this information - but be careful if they ask how much time off you've had due to sickness, or DRs visits you've had - if you lie it is an immediate SACKABLE offence if it should come to light.
As long as you don't want to work in a sector that requires medical reports you should be fine to say you had 'family issues'. If you relapse its not an issue.

Advice on being a medical records clerk? We Answered:
The medical environment holds a wealth of different careers from the obvious nurse and doctor careers to adminstrative careers. My sister really wanted to work in this field, but she wasn't certain perfectly what she really wanted to do. She uncovered the resource in the resource box below, it has lots of instruction, and it helped her to decide what she really wanted to do. They have assistance with other jobs too.Myrtle Said:
Question about Electronic Medical Records/ and medical transcribing? We Answered:
No, it will be quite awhile before electronic typing is perfected (if ever), and people will always be needed to edit computer transcriptions.
