Now some of these things women already do..
I went to school for years while my husband worked, then we switched so he can go to school. He carries the medical, I carry the vision and dental. We both have retirement plans too. I cook and on long trips we take turns driving. He only opens the door for me when I have heels on, which is fine with me.
I have to admit though..I do not get the car in the rain, nor do I shovel snow, but I will make a snowman with him.
I think some things, no matter how old fashioned it sounds are just meant to be. I doubt in 20, 200 or 2000 years that will change. My husband does protect me, but let me tell ya, I went to school for years to fix him if he gets hurt doing it. My husband is a soldier who sent me to school to be a nurse.
