What Should I do with my life? Career assessment help?

We Answered:

do you have a zoo in your area -- if so apply for a job -- if no opening ask to be a volunteer until a opening comes up -- you will enjoy working with the animals and although the pay may not be to great the job can be very rewarding!!!!

stay or move? any advice?

We Answered:

Keep in mind that R.E. is in the TANK IN CA right now! Veteran agents are not able to keep their heads above water, NOT a good time to start in the industry. Make sure you have some experience or skills that will tide you over. Good luck!

i need help with GCSE options?

We Answered:

Neither are essential to become a doctor. In fact, if you want to be really pedantic, both subjects are kind of looked down upon. At GCSE that won't matter, but I would advise you not to take either subject to AS-Level because it might make you a weaker candidate.

Do P.E. if you enjoy it, H&S may seem like a logical choice, but no university requires it or even has a preference for it.

There are three main requirements for medicine:

- Relatively good results. To get into a good medical school you'll need at least a nice bank of As, a lovely string of A*s will make you a strong candidate.

- The right subjects. Maths, Chemistry and Biology at A-Level will get you in almost everywhere. Sometimes maths isn't necessary, and a lot of places will accept Physics instead of Biology, but really any further deviation will weaken your application. H&S does not come into this anywhere.

- Voluntary work. They really don't stress how important this is. Medicine is ridiculously popular and you'll be up against other candidates with straight As. You need to make yourself stand out, getting work experience in a hospital/care home etc... is vital. They don't usually tell kids this until they start applying which results in a massive scramble to get in as much voluntary work as possible within a year. Starting now will give you an advantage. You need to show you think being a doctor is the right thing for you, otherwise they'll throw away your application no matter how good your grades are.

Good luck! (:
