I don't think this one race was the cause of his medical problems.
It may have been a part of the on set of the problems or it might have just been the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.

He did run some ultra races after wards, but I doubt that his current health problems are being caused by this one race.

I do think that running too many marathons, too often causes the early end of careers.

One aspect of prostitution, at least here in New York, is that children as young as 10 or 12 are under the police radar now. What is this? August. Two months ago, in the theatre district, on W. 44th or 45th, I encountered a little girl of no more than 10 but dressed in adult slut-wear, her little face smeared with makeup. Across the street stood a grown man, watching her. Your question reminded me of that...and once something is stirring in my beans, I'm apt to think either new play or new screenplay. Let's see...and if anything come of it, it would be because of your post.
