Yes, and while you're at it, book a stint at APHA in San Diego this year. I might be presenting some research.Anyway, hotel stays are a small price to pay to attend a conference, make professional contacts and hang out in really cool cities. And believe it or not, the presentations are actually pretty cool. I love checking out new research in the stuff I study (foodborne illnesses, STDs, adolescent health).
In public health, professional networking is key. You will have a much easier time landing a job if you know someone.
