It is VERY difficult to make a good living as a chef. Sure, there are superstar Chefs that do quite well, but there are so many talented hard working people who spend their whole life trying to land one of those spots. I love to cook, it is a fantastic skill to have. Keep cooking, just consider a different career. Another problem with the restaurant field is the hours. These people work their ARS off for an amazing amount of hours, often in a very difficult environment trying to please some people who are never happy. Don't get me wrong, I have tremendous respect for people in the profession, I just think for the most part they are over worked, underpaid and under appreciated.
