Do you think a painter with no mental health training could still learn how to help others through art therapy? We Answered:
I am not sure where in the country or world you are. I am in the Bay Area, Ca. Here there is a great center that teaches art to mentally disabled people. They accept volunteers, and it seems that you definitely have enough experience. Look into what kinds of programs are in your area, or maybe you can start your own non-profit!Melinda Said:

how do i actually go about following through with my new years resolution? We Answered:
For me in my twenties, I made a lot of bad choices and I spent a lot of money on liabations that were not good for me. If I had it to do over again, I would stay out of the bars and work harder on me. I would have saved more money so I could have bought a house back then. I would have gone to college---if even only one class at a time to get a degree in a field that I can use to get a good job now and for the future. I would have exercised more and even joined clubs for things that I like to do.Love will find you if you get out in the world. You can't expect it to knock on your door while you sit on the couch watching reruns of samford and son.
At age 46 I found my one and only husband on http://www.plentyoffish.com/
We married at 47 (both) and we have been married almost 4 years now.
I wish you the best of luck!

feedback social work essay?We Answered:
You didn't specify which degree you are applying for, a bachelors degree or a masters degree in Social Work, but for either, your answers are much too short and general. Too much "i want to help people" and save the world type of stuff. That's good, but it's not the specifics an admissions committee is looking at to get a real picture of who you are, and whether you are a good candidate for their program. Even without knowing a thing about social work, most people could give those kinds of answers.Question #1 is about 10 lines long - yet your answer is 2. If it took them that many lines to outline the scope of the question, you will need at least that many to answer it.
Also, rewrite a few sentences - for instance, the aging population is not a problem. It's the way we sometimes treat this population, or the lack of services for them. But the way you have written it, it seems like the geriatric population is a problem.
Also, they are asking what apprehension you may have working with a certain population. I like what you wrote but you did not directly answer that question. You started talking about challenges. So, to answer the question, you could say something like, "I have no apprehension or reluctance in working with any particular population, but I also understand that I have much to learn in working with clients whose age, culture, and other circumstances may be very different than my own. " Then you could go right into your other sentence.
On all the other answers, loooooonger. These are supposed to be thoughtful, detailed replies. If you have no time constraints, why? Are you a full-time student fortunate enough to live at home and have a supported education? Then say so. Or, do you work part-time, but at hours that do not conflict with school or internship? Again, details, details.
The admissions committee is trying to get a bigger sense of you, and these answers need to show it. Remember that they sometimes have 1,000 applicants for 200 slots (that's what it was the year I entered my MSW program) and they will look for the ones who really stand out. The only way they see that is through your GPA, test results, references, resume and most importantly, your voice in essays, personal statements, etc. So, I'd spend a lot more time going into depth on these answers.
Wherever possible, give examples! You did this in one question, but do it in more, referencing any jobs, volunteer work, etc. If they ask a question that pertains, state "In a similar situation at my xxxxx volunteer job, I ....." or "At my employment as a XXXXX, I frequently...."
Best of luck to you.
