Confused feelings, scared about divorce. Maybe it's a mistake? And what do I do about our house?

We Answered:

The main thing is that you want to get divorce, first get a lawyer and he'lll guide you through the proceedings, by the way the first consultation is free with most lawyers. The house will go on the market or if you want to make the payments it will be put under your name. After my divorce I was devastated because I wasn't the one that wanted to get divorce (long story) but I cope with it, I dedicated my life to my two kids after that and soon I was OK. It was the best thing that could happened to me, I've been divorce 13 years. I was able to feel normal, meaning emotions free after 6 to 8 month in my case, I made new friends went out and had a good time. Never feel embarrass to tell someone you're divorce, it's a common thing nowadays. Good luck sweetie, if you have any questions just send me an e-mail.

what are some jobs that pay well with little education?

We Answered:

Bartending, waiting tables in fine restaurants, and any other job that offers tips are usually quite lucrative, but, I think you'd best leave it to your friend to find her own way. She might not appreciate your nosing in (i.e., you said YOU are trying to help; you didn't say that she ASKED you to do so! If she's so concerned about her job - - which, given that she's a manager at a fast food chain, is a huge plus for her resume - - then she needs to find her own way, just as most of us do).

College Major Advice (Kind of long but I need help)?

We Answered:

Psychology is one of the most popular majors in spite of the fact there are essentially no jobs for a person with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.

You can only realistically expect to make a living in this field if you get a PhD so you can set yourself up in private practice as a Psychologist. To do this you have to graduate from your bachelors program with a GPA of at least 3.0. If you think you can do this and commit yourself to at least 4 years of additional schooling after you get your bachelors, then great.

But if you do not think you will get at least a 3.0 or do not intend to stay in school past your bachelors degree then you should consider a different field.

And since you need a PhD and once you have a PhD no one really cares where you got your bachelors, just go to the place you can go for the cheapest, generally your closest state university, as an in state student. A less competitive school is best as you will end up with a better GPA. A high GPA from a less competitive school is better than a mediocre GPA from a competitive school. Save your money for grad school and your PhD.

If you do not want to pursue a masters in Psychology, you can also go into a masters program in a lot of other areas or to law school as well.

People with only an undergrad degree in psychology and who actually got a job made a starting salary of $36,000 per year on average in 2009 according to:
