You need to improve your GPA or your SAT. My GPA was REALLY low but my SAT was really high and i was accepted to some very good colleges. It's not hopeless but you got to work at it

I think you might have a chance at Point Park and Millersville. Your SAT scores are within range for those schools, but your GPA and class rank are a little on the weak side. Your extracurriculars seem pretty good, though. Unfortunately, I believe that BU and UM will be reaches for you. Try taking the ACT. Also, I'm not sure when app deadlines are, but try to boost your GPA during the first semester of your senior year. Good luck!

Of course you can, but you probably know that they admit less than 39% of applicants and you are below the numbers so far so your chances are not in the 61% range.

Your GPA is not terrible; it is your class rank that is hurting you. Universities often rely on the class rank as a sign of high school performance due to the various gpa calculations among high schools and especially since they don't know the calibre of your high school's rigor and academics.

You probably also know that almost 75% of Miami students were in the top 10% of their graduating class and half were in the top 5%.

Admissions also often recalculate gps using only academic class (excluding phy ed, art, journalism etc.) which will also not help you.

Your internship will definitely help you. Try to get a letter of rec from someone in the broadcasting office there.

The hing is on your SAT/ACT score. I know you are already kicking yourself for not taking the PSAT, but take a full length, proctored practice SAT to see where you stand and what schools you should look at. You can probably get a freebie by going to Kaplan, Princeton Review office that offers pricey classes and taking a diagnostic.

with that GPA you can forget Univ. of Miami, Temple, and Penn State. Your best bet would be a small liberal arts school or a Junior college then transfer as a Junior.

But I do recommend picking up your Alegbra 2 grade.

I'm in College now. And I know how important getting all good grades is.

I think if you do good with your senior (grade wise) and keep your current GPA at a 3.50. Than you will have no problem!!!!
