bachlores degree in diagnostic medical sonography?

We Answered:

The most common degree type for becoming a Sonographer is an Associate's, but there are Bachelor's programs out there (just not very many). The more important issue is to make sure you go through a program that's CAAHEP accredited: http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited…

Tip: try to find a technical college in your state that offers the program. It will be much cheaper and will probably have a better reputation in the ultrasound community than a "trade" school (like DeVry).

what is a good nursing school in california?

We Answered:

Those are profit schools and EXTREMELY expensive & not noted for their training. Look into the community colleges near you or the Cal State Uni near you.

My Goal is to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer?

We Answered:

The main thing is to find a program that's CAAHEP accredited for DMS. I'm not sure about Keiser, but if they are a "trade" or for-profit school, I would steer clear. Look for a local technical college that offers an accredited program - these schools are usually more respected in the ultrasound community which gives you a better shot at getting a job. http://caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Pro…

As far as going through medical assisting first, it certainly won't hurt you to do so. However, some DMS programs do not require a prior degree to get accepted, you just have to take the required courses first. So it may save you time to find a program like that and go straight into Sonography. Good luck

Wondering about my chances at getting accepted to Case Western University?

We Answered:

You have a reasonable chance of admission. Your math and CR scores put you at about the 25th percentile of admitted students. About 63% of admitted students are in the top 10% of their class which puts you in a comparatively good position. About 73% of applicants were admitted in 2008, so even if the admission rate has fallen a bit, Case-WR still probably has one of the highest acceptance rates among the top 50 universities.
