Is it bad that im going to college instead of university (canada)? We Answered:
"ive always gone by university was the best and thats where smart people end up and such to get good careers,"Not necessarily true. There are *plenty* of university degrees that off poor career prospects.
If you really want to go to university, then do well in your first year at Fanshawe and see if you can transfer to a university based on that. If not, finish college (with good marks) and then go to a university. It's a longer road, but perhaps worthwhile.
If you're going to stick with with college education and not go to a university later, then I suggest doing a vocational diploma (ie. job training) rather than a subject that can be taken in uni. The fact is, there are a lot of uni grads who would be able to out-compete you. Going to college for Accounting probably wouldn't even let you get a designation, so that wouldn't work out well for you in the end.
In summary:
Option 1) Do something vocational for 2 years.
Option 2) Stick with something business related and then either see if you can transfer after a year, or go to uni after. (Be sure to make a good course plan with your academic advisor at fanshawe to facilitate a transfer).

Do I stand a chance at the college(s) of my choice? We Answered:
Seriously, its not your grades, its how much money your parents are willing to spend.Sorry kid, that's the true reality of life.
If you dont have allot of money just remember one thing:
DON'T FIGHT FAIR! Just Get what you need by winning.

Do I have a shot at going to Cornell University? We Answered:
a lot of other things factor in when you apply to college. your level of interest, application essay, interviews.. things like that. you have a lot of good extracurriculars and some leadership experience. you're only going to be a junior so it's kind of early to have an idea of where you'd be a competitive applicant. for cornell you need to bring up your gpa and class rank and take A LOT more ap classes. thousands of students apply to cornell each year, and no offense but they will have more difficult classes. and you didn't even post the grades you had, which is a very important factor. make sure you don't just blow off your SATs thinking you'll do just fine.. thats what i did and i didn't do as well as i had hoped the first time. but i studied for taking them a second time and i got a 2230... i had gotten a 2000 the first time. if you study you will be fine. just keep up with your school work and maybe try getting a job if you can, although its not necessary. i don't think you should have your heart set on a place like cornell, as they turn away even some of the best applicants. it really is the luck of the draw at the ivy leagues. overall you look like a great student and i wish you the best when you begin applying to colleges! :)
