Paula Said:

i want accounting search job?

We Answered:

Just type in key words on Monster or career builder.com.

Myrtle Said:

Will it be harder for me to find an accounting job, because I'm graduating in December instead of May?

We Answered:

Any job is hard to find at any time of the year. In fact most companies do their year end accounting between Oct. 31 and Dec 31. Come mid January and later is when bad accountants get fired and new ones hired. I wouldn't worry about it, people can get fired and hired any time of the year. Not to mention income tax time is January thru April, whoever told you that gave you bad information.

Graduate in December with a BBA in Accounting: Job search questions?

We Answered:

universities.atwebpages.com - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.

Shawn Said:

accounting job search, need experience??

We Answered:

Try a local accounting office and see if they need a receptionist or book keeper. This will give you the experience you need. And often times they will hire you as an accountant soon after.

Derrick Said:

Is the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist useful for job search in accounting?

We Answered:

It would be meaningless. The level of Excel that you need in accounting is pretty much already covered in college courses. Being an Excel expert does not equate to a good accountant.

Francisco Said:

How do I find a job in accounting/finance?

We Answered:

If you are graduating from a "renown B school" they should have recruiting events on campus. Go to all of those and network. My last year of undergrad, I had interviews on campus and one company flew me to have on site interviews in California and I didn't have a 3.9 GPA. I was involved in the accounting club (Beta Alpha Psi) and went to all the recruiting events.

Make sure you have talked to someone about your resume and cover letter skills. Your school will likely have resume writing workshops or at least someone that can give you feedback on your resume. Also if they have mock interviews participate in those so you can sharpen your interviewing skills.

Craigslist is a good source if you want to work on the private side. I got my first job out of college from a post on there. Also if the recruiting events on campus and CL aren't giving you enough good leeds, try a staffing agency. Not to be confused with a Temp Agency. Try some place like Kforce, Ajilon Finance, Robert Half Financial. They help you find a job. When you get a job, the company that hires you gives them a percentage of your salary for finding you. The job I have now I got with help from Kforce.

If you want to work for a CPA firm, in general the bigger ones don't use outside recruiters and they don't use CL. They have recruiting events on campus. You can also look for what firms have offices in the area you want to work and go to their websites. They have information specific for students and recent graduates.
