Kathryn Said:
Why is it so hard to find a job in Colorado? We Answered:
yeah so we're in this thing called a recession and unemployment is at an all time high. Best of luck I'm broke and jobless too...it's not very funKay Said:
Do employers ever offer a third party home purchase, as part of a relocation package for new employees? We Answered:
I've occasionally heard of such a practice, but would be doubtful that you'd find such a company in this tight economy unless your skill set is so highly valued that the company has no choice but to meet your demands. My company has been managing expenses closely, and we've kept a close eye on hiring related expenses. Perhaps another year in a better economy.
You might consider asking for an upfront bonus that would match the real estate fee it would take to sell you home and moving expenses, along with a housing stipend for a given period. It's not 100% safe, but might be a more reasonable proposal for a potential employer.
Good luck with your job search.

My husband has a chance for a job transfer to another state. Would I be able to collect unemployment? We Answered:
I depends upon the state.Back when my husband was on active duty in the Army, he was transferred from Hawaii to Virginia. Of course I quit my job and followed him. Hawaii granted me unemployment pay for six months. I filed for unemployment in Virginia, but Hawaii paid me.
I think the issue here is whether you quit for good cause. It would be unreasonable to expect you to stay behind if your husband moved to take a new job.

City Similar to Denver, Colorado In the Northeast of the USA?We Answered:
sort of....portland, maine and burlington, vermont are "somewhat" similar..let me explain--both are close to the mountains--colorado's are obvioulsy bigger but the White Mountains of NH are pretty impressive
--both are big ski towns
--the people are pretty similar--very outdoors oriented, very organic food oriented--hence all the "whole foods" grocery stores
..denver is definitely a bigger city than the 2 I listed but the "areas" are pretty similar..typically in the US when people think of outdoors areas they think of the West and new England--so there you go
..the cool part about the northeast is that we have lakes, ocean and many big cities in the vicinity --denver is VERY isolated

Advice for job search please. I'm desperate? We Answered:
I'm sorry to hear your having so much trouble crowny. But also dont' let it frieghten you just yet. Last year was a hard year for everyone. World wide . The recession has hurt many companies its tough out there for all types of people. Keep this in perspective when your job hunting. Its not that your not capable im sure.. You said you have tryed many places and some say you don't have the profile they are looking for. Next time this happens be polite and say I really appreciate this feedback your giving me it will help me in the future. But could you plese elaborate on that. You know probe them a bit find out the root cause here. I'ts always good to get another persons opinion you may not see something they are seeing. and if its happening all the time there is something there you need to fix.As far as you being a human resources director back in your country. thats a good yes. And as you say the laws are different here. Is it possible for you to take a updated course even if its part time, you can still look for work in that field perhaps look for assistant to human resources its still better than working at a coffee shop right. and you'll be in an area that your use to at the same time you'll pick up things as you learn on the job your an assitant this time not the director so you can learn lots with the right person your fitted with. and at the same time when your applying for these jobs in your field of human resources you can speak in the interview that you are enrolled in a course for human rescources to learn more of the function of this country etc... It shows them your eager to learn and your willing to take your own destiny in your hands. It will also save alot of companies for paying for you to go to school.
Also if you have agency in your city where you can sign up for work ( they will take a piece of your paycheck as they are providing you the leg work in getting you the job) but you still have to do the work yourself and you'll get paid a small piece to keep you going for now till something better comes along and were out of the woods of the recession. Don't let this start fights in your new marriage with your husband its tough all around for everyone.
You'll get there sweetie just keep pushing don't throw in the towel yet.
good luck to you.
