Electrical Job Search

Amanda Said:

I need to have an entry level electrical engineering job , but I dn't know what to search for ?

We Answered:

experience is the best way to get in somewhere. go for your masters and take an inter-ship.

All of the "New Grad" hires I've seen have been from internships.

Stay away from technician/assembler jobs. You will never get out of them.

Get on http://www.linkedin.com and maintain your network of college chums. Without experience you need a recommendation.

Aaron Said:

I am a BE electrical i am not getting proper job, how should i search?

There r immense job opportunities in market. First prepare good resume, secondly, register with naukri.com and monsterindia.com.
There r openings for freshers in PSUs and other govt. organisations, spend some time on internet searching jobs. definitely u'll succeed with satisfaction.

Cathy Said:

How do I find an electrical engineer for a contract job?

We Answered:

Almost all contract engineering is done through a temporary agency. Look on job search sites such as Monster.com. Talk to the companies that place contractors for the type of engineering you do.

Angel Said:

How does your GPA affect your job search and job pay?

We Answered:

They will definitely affect your job hunt, since a "good" company will get more applicants and an applicant with a better GPA has more chances than you. Getting the job however is more than just your GPA, the interview affects a lot.

I read once of a guy that studied law in Harvard Law School got a low GPA when he graduated, and made it impossible for him to get a good paying job (more than 60k a year). Where people that graduate with honors get easier access to that top of the line job. Although this answer is biased towards that example there could've been many other problems as to why he didn't get that job. But that could vary depending on the company and the contacts you have inside that company.
