First you have to think about what you do for a living. If you have training or experience in a job that is listed as hard to fill, then you can qualify for the provincncial nominee program in some province.

You can find links to PNP's of different provinces here: http://www.immigratingtocanada.com/immig…

Most of them are looking for skilled workers like carpenters, welders, things like that but BC and Alberta are also looking for semi-skilled workers, such as fast food workers, hotel cleaners etc. If you see that your experience qualifies under one of these programs, you know that is the kind of job you need to look for and that is the province you need to look in.

You can look for jobs at http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/Intro_en.aspx or you can try to locate a placement agency that will help you find a job.

If you can't find a job, you can still apply without one at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/s… under a points system where you get points for education, work experience, language skills etc. If you have enough points, you can apply for a Canadian Permanent Residency right away so when you come to Canada, you can live anywhere and take any job. It's like the US green card.

If you don't have enough points to do that. You could try to get some job experience in one of the semi-skilled jobs again to qualify under those programs or if you have experience as a live-in caregiver, taking care of kids or en elderly or disabled person in their home, you can get in on a visa to do that and in 2 years apply for permanent residency.
