i'm moving to hawaii soon i need help plzzzzz? We Answered:
Alright.. After reading what that other guy said, I felt I just had to say something,.. Everything he said is true... for the most part. Yes, it's expensive here, and jobs are not the easiest to come by.. and apartments are not cheap.. However, it's not THAT bad. I can't tell you where the cheap apartments are - I don't know. . But wait. I just realized.. You picked the most expensive Island! There are some places on the east side of big island that are pretty cheap. Either way, I know that cheap apartments do exsist here..
I'm sorry I can't help you more, but my point is that - I know many people who get by quite well with one job, living in Hawaii (oahu particularly), living in apartments. I just didn't want you to be discourage by what other people say. Yes Hawaii's got some problems right now... but is there anyplace that doesn't?
Best of luck with everything.

SHOULD I TAKE A WEEK VACATION?We Answered:
in these tough economic times, it is very very hard to find a job. I might save my money and continue to look for the job. I know that it would be a great time in Hawaii, but maybe this is not the time to go!M

I had sex with a good friend. And I have a boyfriend. What should I do?We Answered:
You were obviously filling an emotional void. You found what you were missing in your friend, and let yourself lead that to sex. If your boyfriend is not satisfying ALL of your needs...you need to break up with him and move on. You should never be sleeping with someone else while still involved with another. It sounds like you have tried everything you can to get through to your boyfriend and he isn't living up to your expectations and you have been feeling empty. Ditch him and get with the guy that treats your right!Sally Said:
Several questions about Hawaii and the possibility of living there, can anyone help?We Answered:
i've been living in honolulu since last year, and have yet to find a job. My husbands in the military so i'm not broke, but i could use a job. Oahu has the most opportunities. But there are a lot of people looking, and there are job openings but i've had some trouble. But i'm sure it will get better when tourism picks up in summer.I am not sure about becoming a real citizen, i know you have to register your car (if you bring it) in HI and that's fairly easy. I had to have a physical and get my medical records...but that was just because my husbands military. I'm pretty sure citizenship would just be getting a id card or drivers lisence, because i haven't heard of anything since HI still in the US. I'm like 95% sure there isn't a process. ( But u should probably bring your birth certificate and medical records regardless of where you move, just in case something were to medically happen to you)
I think you could do it. It is expensive though, the food is the biggest part, it's like $8 for milk, and the cost of the apartments. we only make about 4500 a month and it's streched pretty thin...but we have credit cards to pay and a car payment, and our rent is 1500. so if your apt were cheaper it would give you more room.
My advice to you, if your moving to oahu that is, do not rent an apartment without looking at it first! there are a lot of crappy places here, and not too many good ones that are not about $2000. but your probably more flexible than me.
Honestly, i don't like it here. the weather is nice and parts of it are beautiful, but it's mostly beautiful in the tourist areas, after you get into the real hawaii it's quite different.
but i'm picky and from southern ca and i didn't choose to come here. so don't let me detour you.
good luck!
hopefully something in there helped you.

What is traffic like in Hawaii? We Answered:
I used to live in Mililani, which is probably 2/3 of the way btween Honolulu & the north shore. People would routinely leave home at 6 am for an 8 am start time, in an effort to beat the "worst" of the traffic. That was over ten years ago & it has only gotten worse. The north shore is lovely, but I would only consider living there if I worked a non traditional schedule.
