How to search and apply for teller positions of bank job?

We Answered:

you MIGHT try temporary hire companies and see about hiring out as an office "temp". Often companies need someone for only a short time and may be looking to put you in and sometimes the jobs turn into full time jobs.

I'm not sure if this is common with the banking industries, but it's something you MIGHT look into. There's accountemps - they hire out this stuff. God Speed!

Why is job search in the Investment Banking sector seems like the biggest Challenge ?

We Answered:

Investment banking is a very competitive sector to get into that's the first issue. Secondly, there are currently no jobs and alot of people going for these few opportunities. Much of the world of investment banking (IT, Marketing etc) involves networking and having the right connections. The other point is that alot of these ADs are pure and simple lies... the jobs don't exist - it's a way for recruiters to grab CVs - check your previous companies and then call you to get 'references' - so that they can generate leads and hence get 'their foot in the door'. I suggest the following approach:

* Pick reputable agencies specially that have been around a while - write to them or call them directly.
* Try calling the HR departments of these investment banks directly you may get lucky and get a job.
* Try and differentiate your CV from the rest of the pack - e.g. a guy I knew a few years back specified he would work for free for 1 month so that the recruiter knew he was a.) serious and b.) worthwhile hiring and c.) not wasting their time.
* Try and get a foot in the door and can take a different job maybe one that doesn't take all your skill set into account - stick around for 6-12 months and if things don't improve where you are - start looking for a job with a competitor.
* Join a networking site and join forums to discuss issues, ideas etc e.g. LinkedIN.com
* A option I explored when hit with the recession of the early 90's was to go abroad - I went to Hong Kong for a year and it was fun, a great experience and helped with my current job. There is a big demand abroad for UK qualified individuals.

Good Luck
