pay someone to go over your resume- have them spice it up or give suggestions

call a former interviewer and ask them for suggestions on what to do differently or better

practice interviewing with a friend or family- go into the interview with a real interest for the job and ask meaningful questions about responsiblities and the company- just dont ask about salary and benefits or they will think that you will be unloyal

Oh come on, in the current climate you don't need to do that much to keep them happy.
I'm doing damn-all as I'm completely disillusioned and depressed and they're still perfectly happy I'm looking for work.
If they haven't done so already, get them to give you a list of job websites apart from Jobcentre Plus and browse a couple every day from the comfort of your own computer and WRITE DOWN you're doing it.
Register with agencies and they'll do all the looking and ring you if they find something. Again, list it for the DWP, they'll love it. It's hardly hard labour is it?
