Job Employment Search

Gina Said:

How has the concept of the "job" changed, and how will it affect your employment search?

We Answered:

I don't think the concept of job has changed, but the concept of applications has evolved.

Applicants don't realize their online activity is now subject to review. That would be blogs, websites (My Space pages, etc...), online resume posting, etc.. Employers have lots more options when considering candidates and sometimes it isn't just a background or financial check.

Company loyalty has evolved as more company identities are swallowed up by larger corporations. Applicants need to realize that "the job" may not be their ultimate career choice, but a stop along the way. On the other hand, employers are pretty good at spotting a "pass through" employee.

The work is the same - it's who is doing it that has changed.

Willie Said:

employment job search engines?

We Answered:

These engines are nothing more than simple automated programs that let you filter out your preferred job in a huge database of information specifically about jobs and its related links. Jobs can be searched in many ways such as by location, job title, age, and even by salary. Some engines allow a more detailed search but they sometimes require you to register or pay a small fee. Some engines can take in multiple queries so that you can filter down the jibs you really want and nothing in general. Most online search engines are free to use but going beyond standard surfing means an added cost.
