Job Search Employment

Helen Said:

Which Job search website is the most affective at producing positive results for those in search of employment

We Answered:

monster. com

Kathleen Said:

Help me with my COM 215 class Creating a table for job employment?

We Answered:

Create a table with 7 columns.

The columns are labeled Sun/Mon/Tue etc

The number of rows is up to you.

You should have one week on one sheet of paper. Week 2 will be on the second sheet etc

Now start creating rows. Realistically, if you want a job, your "job" will be finding one. So, we can't work just one hour a day. It has to be 5-6 hrs a day searching for jobs.

Break it down into phases:

Week one will be the research phase where you review jobs you might want, search for salaries in the area, have some practice interviews with friends/family, revise your resume etc.

Week two will be actively going on job searches

Week three will be follow up and hopefully a job offer.

Example schedule.

Week One:

Sunday: Collect job ads
Monday: Go to library, review salary requirements
Tuesday: Attend resume workshop at local college
Wednesday: Practice interviews

You can break down each day by the hour, or even by the minute.

The extent is up to you.

Good luck!

Megan Said:

Can the Internet be successful in finding employment. Are job search engines such as Monster.com reliable?

We Answered:

Sure... go for it. In fact, get your resume at several of these services.

http://www.monster.com

http://www.careerbuilder.com

http://www.hotjobs.com

Be sure that your on-line resume does not reveal too much about yourself. Your Social Security number, credit history, banking information and other money related matters simply don't belong on your resume. You might use a separate FREE e-mail address from Yahoo.com specifically for this purpose, so you can avoid getting more spam in your inbox.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
