Structural Engineering Jobs in Canada?

We Answered:

I'm sure you can find them, there is a construction industry in Canada just like everywhere else, and there will coninue to be one. I don't know where jobs are more prevelant than others, but the company I work for seems to do alot of work in Quebec. You might look up a company called Genivar - I think they are placed all over Canada, and they are an engineering consulting firm. They do project design and development... We use them to get Canadian engineering stamped drawings for work done in Canada from a US company. They also help with permits and permit packages.

What changes should I make to my site to encourage visitors to return?

We Answered:

I visited your site and here are my comments:

1. In your homepage copy, focus on the BENEFITS to users, not visitors. You've stated the following features:

- Bookmark the Job Sources you visit often and the Search Criteria you use
- Record an unlimited number of Ads you are interested in

But you are NOT telling me why I should do that? How will this webapp benefit me? I know it is free, but what exactly is its use? Tell the users what they can achieve by using this tool, not what this tool are.

Your homepage should answer the question "What is it for me?"

2. If you are getting sign ups but not enough return visit, then you need to ask the following questions:

- Did the user understand the purpose of the tool?
- Did they actually do anything when they signed up, or did they just sign up and never came again?
- What are the most frequent exit points in your website (check your website logs)
- If your website analysis software tracks the funnel process towards the actual use of the software, which process do they usually leave?
- Do you have a simple, easy to understand guide on how to set up and use the webapp?
