Job Search For College Students

Lydia Said:

I need some ideas for a job search please!?

We Answered:

Boy did you ask the right questions. First, think long term goals and head to your career center on campus and ask to speak with a work experience counselor. Depending on your major, you can receive 4 units of credit to work as a paid intern. So not only will you be recieving a check but credit as well which helps you maintain a full time student status while working. Best thing though, it will most likely secure you a job in the field you are studying long before you graduate. It will also put you ahead of the curve. Think about it if you are studying sayyyy...Journalism and there are 80 journalism students waiting to get a job in June when they graduate at the news station or paper....you won't have to battle the competition because you are already in! Approach your professor and see if they can get you an appointment or referral along with a letter of recommendation for a job. GOOD LUCK! I will tell you this paid off for me. I worked for ABC News and it was a HUGE career BOOSTER!

Does anyone know of European resorts that hire US college students for the summer?

We Answered:

have you tried Disney Land Paris? I hear they hire americans.

Danny Said:

College graduates, how long before or after graduating did you land your first "real" job?

We Answered:

I went to Europe for a month after graduating and then had my first "real job" w/in a couple months of returning. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing, just find something that is right for you. My motto was, "I'm going to pick the best job in the best location and go for it!"
