I know of shop staff now ID'ing everyone for alcohol sales as the law is targeting this - for under age.
This will be pushed by our government to be a policy of all purchaces must have ID. Those non-drivers will HAVE to get ID cards.
These will "helpfully" carry RFID chips.

When this is accepted as the norm - RFID Implants will be suggested as a "convenience"

I'm not too sure if they will turn you down because you are 16. Maybe they are looking for people with some work experience in that area. If you don't hear from them in a couple of weeks, it wouldn't do any harm to either e mail or call them just to check they received your application and to give you an idea of when you can expect to hear back from them. Or just pop into the shop and ask them what the procedure is as the staff there will have been through it themselves. Good luck!
