Clara Said:

Can someone please help me with my job search?

We Answered:

Indeed is the Cadillac of websites. It is crazy and I am on it daily. Basically it checks all the websites like monster and careerbuilder as well as local newspapers online and local websites and staffing agencies. And no, I do not work there, just a fellow job searcher looking for some help. CPG is another good site, especially for your field.

Casey Said:

I am pregnant and searching for a temp job in CT. Can anyone help?

We Answered:

Definitely look into a City job. They usually have TONS of temp positions most of the time admin or office assistants. Plus it is very common to hire a temp on full time at a job like that. I started as a temp for my city and am now a contract officer.

Alfred Said:

Political job search engines?

We Answered:

Paid political jobs are pretty scarce in Connecticut and the only way to really obtain these is through having a history of volunteering or following a successful internship.

Luckily it's an election year so there will be plenty of opportunity to volunteer, though as a 2007 college grad you're probably looking for something that'll pay right now...

Unfortunately timing is not good for finding paid work as the CT General Assembly staff has already been in place for months and will be winding down for the year soon anyway. Campaigns (national and local) will be coming together soon, but those that get paid positions will likely be only those with years of experience and the right connections (from past volunteering or staff wprk).

Best places to start would be your local/town political party chair... ask him/her to connect you with some names at the state party level to start meeting people and perhaps sending our resume around. You may get lucky if your resume lands on the right desk at the right time.

Also, try a job search engine: Indeed.com can be helpful for any job search. Setup filters with words like "political" and "campaign" and the state "CT" and save the job alert to have jobs sent to you via email.

Best of luck, CT can be a desert in terms of political activity sometimes but if you're passionate enough you'll be able to find work eventually.

A Critical Situation of Unemployment....I need a job, any advice?

We Answered:

I work for a printing company. The day I walked in the door, I was hired. I only did simple things like helping with labeling and packaging. There is usually something that can be done. Had only restaurant experience. Good Luck!
