It's a tough question. If the two of you really get along, I wouldn't want to discourage you, but you need to be mindful of the downsides. With that kind of age difference, you're likely to be at different stages of your life. Mature as you may be, he's had a lot more experiences in life than you. He's probably used to doing things his own way, living on his own, and making up his own mind about things. Are you sure he can take you as seriously as he would someone his own age? Does he treat you like an equal, or like someone he's giving advice to?

If the relationship gets serious, you have to look at where you are in life. Do the two of you want to get married? Have children? If he does, he'll probably want to do it soon, because he's getting to that age. You might want to wait until you're older. Is he going to be okay with that? And when you're in your thirties, do you want to be married to a man who's fifty?

All that said, I don't want to discourage you. People make all sorts of relationships work, and if the two of you are really in love, you can work these sorts of things out. You just need to think about what you're getting into. Ask yourself if you're really so attracted to him that you're willing to risk the potential downsides. If you are, I say go for it.

Working for a non-profit organization doesn't mean you don't get paid. The non-profits are supported by donations or government funds. Non-profit just means the organization isn't out to make a profit. They can break even and stay a non-profit. I would think that if a non-profit was advertising jobs on the internet they would specify if the jobs were un-paid, ie: "volunteers needed", or something like that.
