I would agree, definitely do your research before moving/getting a job in Dubai. Lots of competition for jobs (and the population is only growing, so you can expect competition to increase) but of course it depends on your area of expertise.

It looks like the jobs that are in highest demand right now are Sales Executive, Accountant, Secretary, and Business Development.

Your future employer will be your sponsor. The company's PRO will take care of all labour and visa related subjects. All costs have to be paid by the company and are not deductible from the salary.

Please be aware that it is advised to negotiate a salary package incl. basic salary + housing allowance + transportation as a minimum.

In case you come here on a visit/tourist visa to look for a job, you will loose money for sure. You also might get only a "local" contract because you are here already. Because the visa laws just changed it also could be possible that you will get employed, have to go back to Pakistan and come back to the UAE on an employment visa. It is said that a visit visa can be converted to an employment visa, but...............

Said all this, look for a suitable job opening before you come here, enter the UAE on employment visa and do loose any money.

friend; due to the current economic down turn; it does not appear to be the right time to hunt. many people are laid off or terminated permanently. during such times, if possible it is better to improve and hone skills.
