Best Job search web site for Civil Engineers in USA?

We Answered:

Things evolve. You used to have to peruse the newspapers, now we post a resume on monster and the head hunters start calling. I posted my resume june 1, received 6 on site interview before I was hired in august. Turns out my old boss saw my resume and wanted me back. I could have had more interview and got hired earlier, but I limited myself geographically first.

Some my friend list slightly different resume on different sights. Linkin has some leads. Actually I only got one interview from a resume I sent in. The others were head hunters.

I am in search of Job in USA, How should I go ahead ?

We Answered:

Sure, sign up with a "body shop," pay their fees, sit on the bench for 6 months because there is no work, then return home at your expense, & since you are in violation of visa requirements, be barred from the US.

The real US unemployment rate has been over 20% since May. Employers are laying off. Many are closing entirely. Business bankruptcies, especially for small business are higher now than they were during the Depression. With over 30 million American citizens searching for work, ever fewer employers are willing to spend the time, money and hassle getting visas for foreign workers. Signing up with a "body shop" is actually illegal since visa regulations require that you actually work and be paid by the company which obtains your visa. It is highly unlikely that you can find any job in the US, especially if you need an employment visa.

Right now, there are only two large economies which are growing and where companies are hiring: India & Brazil. If you are not Indian, forget about working there, and if you are not Brazilian, forget about working there. (Unless your credentials include degrees in petroleum engineering and you have extensive experience in deep-water drilling, in which case they will come to you with an offer). Even China isn't really hiring -- and they have 100 million unemployed.
