Is This A Craigslist Scam?

We Answered:

It's a scam, we have almost the exact one on file here

http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewfor…

The wording is typical scam script, it is very hard to follow, not clear as it would be from a legitimate employer, there is a lot of superfluous information that would never be used in a normal employment discussion.

Then the cheque business?

*Am currently away now for an inspection contract with broad fabrics firm and I want you to know that my client will be sending you a payment in form a Money Orders/Cashier check which i want you to know that after deducting the agreed amount which is your portion the remaining funds will be used by my mother for her travel expenses, shopping and any other expenses(overdraft) immediately you have your portion deducted.*

You will receive a money order for more than the amount you are due, then you will be asked to send it, by Western Union, to another person. The money order/cheque will be fake, you will owe your bank the amount you have withdrawn, and there will be no trace of the scammer.

It is a scam

Has anybody ever heard of J & L Distributing? Is it a job scam?

We Answered:

I haven't heard of this company. Is it a job where you get a w2 form or did you sign on as an independent representative or buy into the company? Check with the BBB see if they're registered. Check to see if they're licensed. What are you distributing? So many questions and places to refer you over to in order to find out if it's real or not. On ripoffreport, and other blog such sites, you can't beleive everything you read or hear. I've found that a lot of stuff posted is B.S. It's pretty much a place where people go to "vent" their frusterations. When someone does't do what was required, they automatically try to "pass the buck" and place the blame onto something or someone else. People don't want to fess up to their failures and want it to be someone else's fault. It's human nature I guess. So these people file reports, make up blogs only to attempt to justify their failures in jobs or businesses. When in actuallity 80 percent of these places are legitament and have a wonderful opportunitiy, as long as you follow the guidlines. When this isn't done, these people start calling things a fake, a scam, etc. Like I said, basically to make themselves feel better and to try and justify their failures.

Searching for a job?

We Answered:

Hi I work in recruitment and the most popular job websites to search on are:

www.reed.co.uk - any employer or agency can advertise here
www.jobsite.co.uk
www.monster.co.uk

Also buying your local newspaper and looking in the jobs section will help.

When looking for work in hotels etc then search under the various job titles that could be possible eg, porter, barman, waiter etc or if looking for something with training the just type in "trainee" and see what it comes up with. If you register with jobsite or monster you can upload your CV and employers and agencies can find you by searching the CV database. All free for you! take advantage.

Good luck :-)
