Job Search Massachusetts

Carole Said:

Are there any "hidden" job-search sites that would be useful for a graphic artist/art...?

We Answered:

Finding your dream job is a full time job itself. However limiting your options just to internet or newspapers is not the best option for you. Even in the digital era. I would say you can try also:
1) To attend some conventions or conferences in your industry and use it to market yourself.
2) Post a creative ad in specialized magazine or newsletter
3) Find art association that is most close to what you would like to do and attend their local meeting
4) Find your dream local company to work for and be aggressive contacting not only their HR but also key figures in the business or even directly the CEO.
The only site I will recommend is theladders.com - it is worth to pay and try their services.
Good luck in your search!

Trucking Jobs in Massachusetts?

We Answered:

I know this may sound odd, but try truck stops; most have a bulletin board listing open positions. Same for gas stations that cater to trucks - there's one on Route 9 just east of Worcester, forget the name but it has a big shamrock on the sign.

Employer Training Reimbursement - Massachusetts?

We Answered:

They can do that only by contract.

In massachusetts pot has been decriminalized; can an employer hold it against me under the new law?

We Answered:

Just becasue its decriminalized doesnt make it legal, all that means is the punishment is different. Pot is still illegal in Massachusetts and even if it wasn't, it would be treated like alcohol and would still fail a test if the test was positive for it. In other words you can't drink a six pack and then take a test for a job and expect to pass. So the pot law for Mass states, instead of being locked up for an ounce or less of weed, it is only a $100 fine. Untill it is legalized..employment standards will remain the same.

Massachusetts Job search?!?!? HELP!!!!!?

We Answered:

Why not use the yahoo job listings from that area ? Also try looking up newspapers for that area online and looking in there classified section. You can also contact the areas Chamber of Commerce or The Mass. Dept of Labor as they might also have listings.
